From what I'm seeing of the fandom, the loud ones definitely will find a lot of the relationships in BtW icky. You mentioned the men being minors LMAO I also wanted to point out that in the CW stories, MC is usually a minor by modern day standards. She marries at 15. I dunno if that'll get a pass because it's ancient times though... The only events that don't reference anything chinese so far have been Vday 2024 and Avici lmao BtW plans their events to the Lunar Calendar, you CAN'T SCRUB THAT. Though if it were to get a localisation, I have faith in them retaining all that because I asked a friend about HLR/LBC. They kept Chinese holidays as is and they did their best with Chinese word puns. I don't hear much discrepancy between the CN men vs JP/EN men characterisations. Unfortunately, localised JP games are much more common now it's also usually the first thing someone who gets into these games think of so I don't think it'll be easy to peel the filter off for new players. I'm pretty jaded and honestly don't care as long as people don't come trampling all over my landmines. We can coexist civilly.
